Information on COVID-19 /Coronavirus
The corona virus is spreading rapidly and knows no national borders. The Republic of South Africa is not spared either. Due to the associated restrictions in international air and travel traffic as well as adverse effects on public life, warnings are still issued against unnecessary tourist trips to South Africa.
South Africa has largely lifted entry restrictions. Entry for tourist purposes, for example, is again permitted regardless of previous stays in other countries. All travelers must provide evidence of a negative PCR test upon arrival, which must not be older than 72 hours upon departure. The test must be drawn up by a licensed medical facility or a licensed physician with their name and signature. Travelers entering without a PCR test must undergo a 10-day quarantine at their own expense.
